No. God is a hypothesized entity. This is similar to how "the government" or "the climate" or "our culture" is not a metaphor. It's large, complicated, multifaceted, fuzzy around the edges, and hard to point to, but it's an entity that's put forth as something that is part of the world, and that one could invest in or not.
